The Untold Christmas Story – Let there be light!
Key Scriptures: Genesis 1:1-4 NLT; John 1:1-9 NLT; 2 Corinthians 4:6 NLT; John 8:12a NLT; Thessalonians 2:13 NLT
Key Words: Sonoluminescence – is the emission of short bursts of light from imploding bubbles in a liquid when excited by sound.
Take Away:
The WORD is the source of light.
The WORD is life.
The WORD has an effect.
Our light comes from the faith-filled anticipation of the ongoing presence of the WORD and not the fleeting excitement of a moment.
Let’s Talk:
Have you ever been on a lake at night when it was pitch black?
Was it easy to find places of light even from a great distance?
How could those lights in the darkness be helpful to someone?
If the tiniest of lights can be seen from a distance in total darkness, how much more powerful is the light?
Let’s Think:
King Herod seen Jesus as a direct threat to his kingdom, power and authority.
If Herod would have responded to the birth of Jesus, the WORD, in the proper way, how could it have changed his rule for the better?
What are some ways Jesus, the WORD, enhances your gifts and improves things in your life?
Going Deeper:
How incredible was it that God decided to reveal the birth of Jesus to ordinary shepherds first, instead of Religious leaders, Kings, Queens and other Powerful people of the day.
What does this tell us about the heart of God?
How should we respond to the “light” that God reveals to us through His WORD?
Prayer:
Spend some time thanking God, through prayer, for sending the light in your dark times. Reflect on how much he loves you and was willing to give it all to rescue you from darkness.
Walk It Out:
Help spread the Light to those who may be in a time of darkness by sharing the WORD of God. Text a friend an encouraging scripture, share it on social media or write it on your Christmas cards. Proverbs 15:23
Merry Christmas all
Be Blessed, thank you Victory Church
