Salt of the Earth (Notes 08 23 2020)
1 Timothy 4:7-11 NLT
7 Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives’ tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly.
8 Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.
9 This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it.
10 This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers.
11 Teach these things and insist that everyone learn them.
Isaiah 33:6 NIV
6 He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.”
As SALT – we should RETAIN our SAVOR.
As LIGHT – we should SHINE FORTH on all men.
TWO AREAS of RELATIONSHIP with GOD:
1. Has a RELATIONSHIP with Him which is ETERNAL.
2. Is in FELLOWSHIP with Him which is TEMPORAL.
You became an ETERNAL PRIEST.

You were given RIGHTEOUSNESS.
1 Corinthians 1:30-31 NLT
30 God alone made it possible for you to be in Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made Christ to be wisdom itself. He is the one who made us acceptable to God. He made us pure and holy, and he gave himself to purchase our freedom. 31 As the Scriptures say, “The person who wishes to boast should boast only of what the Lord has done.”
2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
BECAUSE GOD sees you in Christ you always have a RELATIONSHIP with Him!
When you are IN Fellowship with Him you are REFERRED to as SPIRITUAL.
When you are OUT of Fellowship you are REFERRED to as CARNAL.
God’s Word PRODUCES JOY, STRENGTH and STABILITY IN LIFE!!!!
Matthew 5:13 NLT
13 You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.
5 Blessed are the meek (teachable): for they shall inherit the earth.
SALT – halas (hal’-as); salt; figuratively, prudence:
PRUDENT – the ability to govern and discipline oneself by the use of reason
(wisdom). Sagacity (keen and farsighted judgement) in the management
of affairs. Skill and good judgement (wisdom) in the use of resources.
If you have LOST the ABILITY to be PRUDENT…
ABILITY to MAKE WISE DECISIONS…
ABILITY TO HAVE WISDOM…
then you basically EXIST to be ‘WALKED ON’ by the WORLD!
YOU are the OUTLET or EXPRESSION of WISDOM in the EARTH!
Colossians 1:25-27 KJV

God CHOSE to express His WISDOM TO the World BY THE CHURCH!!
He CHOSE to EXPRESS HIMSELF THROUGH the CHURCH!!!
He CHOSE to MAKE US the SALT OF THE EARTH!!!!!
Ephesians 3:16-20 KJV
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. 20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, KJV
One of the REASONS we became BORN AGAIN is so that OUR LIVES could BECOME A BLESSING TO OTHERS!

HOW do you keep savor in yourself?
Mark 9:50 KJV
50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.
You keep the savor in the salt by having salt IN YOURSELF.
Colossians 4:5-6 KJV
5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. 6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Job 6:6 KJV
6 Can that which is unsavoury be eaten without salt? or is there any taste in the white of an egg?
The ‘white of an egg’ are the unsavory things of life we many times have.
Acts 1:8 KJV
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. KJV

Don’t TRY to be salt, just BE what you ARE!!!
