JUBILEE 2020
Pastor Stan Roberts
Jubilee –
1 a yearlong period to be observed by Jews once every 50 years, during which Jewish slaves were to be freed, alienated lands were to be restored to the original owner or an heir, the fields were to be left untilled, and all agricultural labors were to be suspended.
2 any season or occasion of rejoicing or festivity.
Leviticus 27:24 NKJV
“In the Year of Jubilee the field shall return to him from whom it was bought, to the one who owned the land as a possession.”
Leviticus 13, 2310,-25:9 NLT
9 Then on the Day of Atonement in the fiftieth year, blow the ram’s horn loud and long throughout the land.
10 Set this year apart as holy, a time to proclaim freedom throughout the land for all who live there. It will be a jubilee year for you, when each of you may return to the land that belonged to your ancestors and return to your own clan.
13 In the Year of Jubilee each of you may return to the land that belonged to your ancestors.
23 The land must never be sold on a permanent basis, for the land belongs to me. You are only foreigners and tenant farmers working for me.
Luke 19-4:18 NKJV
18 “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”
Isaiah 2-61:1 NKJV
1 “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,”
NKJV 10-25:9 Leviticus
9 Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your land.
10 And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family.”
Romans 3:25 NIV
“God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—”
Atonement – The doctrine concerning the reconciliation of God and humankind, especially as accomplished through the life, suffering, and death of Christ.
Jesus in Luke 4 reading from Isaiah was basically saying, “I am Jubilee!”
In Him we have been atoned for our sin and we have returned to our original standing with God and our original possessions with God!
John 10:3 NKJV
“To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.”
NKJV 1:7 II Timothy
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
Acts 1:8 NKJV
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.””
NKJV 19-4:18 I John
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
19 We love Him because He first loved us.
John 14:27 NKJV
Romans 12:2 NLT
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
As we GROW in the Word of God we reach PROGRESSIVE LEVELS of UNDERSTANDING and we MATURE IN OUR THINKING.
We need to also PROGRESS in HEARING GOD’s Voice.
John 9:21-38 KJV
Revelation 3:20-22
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. KJV
The Lord is wanting and desiring intimacy with us.
John 21:1-9 KJV
Hearing from God should be part of our EVERYDAY LIFE.
John 10:1-5
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.” KJV
