Jesus Over Everything 2 with Frankie Valencia

About this Message:

Jesus Is Sufficient

  1. Human Attempts

What are some things you might do to try and be sufficient in and of yourself?

Maybe you know someone who thinks they don’t need God because they have everything they need already.

Here is what I’ve found…A lot of times we do things our way. And in our human attempts to be sufficient no matter how much success there is still a void.

It wasn’t until I realized that I was enough for Him that He became enough for me!

Colossians 1:21-23 (TPT)

21–22 Even though you were once distant from him, living in the shadows of your evil thoughts and actions, he reconnected you back to himself. He released his supernatural peace to you through the sacrifice of his own body as the sin-payment on your behalf so that you would dwell in his presence. And now there is nothing between you and Father God, for he sees you as holy, flawless, and restored,

23 if indeed you continue to advance in faith, assured of a firm foundation to grow upon. Never be shaken from the hope of the gospel you have BELIEVED IN. And this is the glorious news I preach all over the world.

I needed to believe that my life was complete in Him and that only came by believing in the truth of the gospel.

Believing is where it all starts!

John 6:26 (TPT)

26 Jesus replied, “Let me make this very clear, you came looking for me because I fed you by a miracle, not because you believe in me.

27 Why would you strive for food that is perishable and not be passionate to seek the food of eternal life, which never spoils? I, the Son of Man, am ready to give you what matters most, for God the Father has destined me for this purpose.”

28 They replied, “So what should we do if we want to do God’s work?”

29 Jesus answered, “The work you can do for God starts with believing in the One he has sent.”

There are plenty of people who are fed but are not full.

  1. Jesus’ Provision

Jesus is not a supplement.  He is not a genie in a bottle. He is sufficient.

Every need you have when you turn to Jesus gets met in Him.

Colossians 2:9-10 (TPT)

For he is the complete fullness of deity living in human form.

10 And our own completeness is now found in him. We are completely filled with God as Christ’s fullness overflows within us. He is the Head of every kingdom and authority in the universe!

You are complete in Jesus. You are filled to overflowing with HIM! Stop letting things, people and life drain you of that fullness!

Salvation (Romans 10:10)

Safety (Psalms 91)

Divine Health (3 John 1:2)

Prosperity (1 Corinthians 15:58)

Matthew 6:33 – (TPT)

33 “So above all, constantly chase after the realm of God’s kingdom and the righteousness that proceeds from him. Then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly.

34 Refuse to worry about tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself.”

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (TPT)

But he answered me, “My grace is always more than enough for you, and my power finds its full expression through your weakness.” So I will celebrate my weaknesses, for when I’m weak I sense more deeply the mighty power of Christ living in me.

10 So I’m not defeated by my weakness, but delighted! For when I feel my weakness and endure mistreatment—when I’m surrounded with troubles on every side and face persecution because of my love for Christ—I am made yet stronger. For my weakness becomes a portal to God’s power.

How many things do we NOT give Jesus access to that would allow HIM to be sufficient to us in all things?

His sufficiency has always been there. We have just allowed too many distractions to get in the way.

  1. How do we tap into that?

In the same way you received Jesus our Lord and Messiah by faith, continue your journey of faith, progressing further into your union with him!

Your spiritual roots go deeply into his life as you are continually infused with strength, encouraged in every way. For you are established in the faith you have absorbed and enriched by your devotion to him!

To have faith means that you “walk in Him” in all things. That means that you SHINE in all things. You reflect HIS character in all things. You model who HE IS because HE IS SUFFICIENT in all things!

  1. Rooted

Pslam 1:3 (TPT)

He will be standing firm like a flourishing tree

planted by God’s design,

deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss,

bearing fruit in every season of his life.

He is never dry, never fainting,

ever blessed, ever prosperous.

Being rooted IN HIM will allow you to bear fruit IN ALL SEASONS. Thats the good and bad seasons!

Do not judge your life by the seasons that you are in!

  1. Encouraged

Hebrews 10:23-24 (TPT)

23 So now we must cling tightly to the hope that lives within us, knowing that God always keeps his promises!

24 Discover creative ways to encourage others and to motivate them toward acts of compassion, doing beautiful works as expressions of love.

You are encouraged and an encouragement

Where does your source of encouragement come from?

Gain encouragement through God’s word

  1. Established

1 Peter 5:10 (TPT)

10 And then, after your brief suffering, the God of all loving grace, who has called you to share in his eternal glory in Christ, will personally and powerfully restore you and make you stronger than ever. Yes, he will set you firmly in place and build you up.

Walking in Him will not always be easy. It doesn’t mean that everything will be a cakewalk. There is sacrifice involved and because of that suffering.

  1. Enriched

2 Corinthians 9:8 & 10-11

Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything—every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do.

10 This generous God who supplies abundant seed for the farmer, which becomes bread for our meals, is even more extravagant toward you. First he supplies every need, plus more. Then he multiplies the seed as you sow it, so that the harvest of your generosity will grow.

11 You will be abundantly enriched in every way as you give generously on every occasion, for when we take your gifts to those in need, it causes many to give thanks to God.

You are blessed to be a blessing!

The purpose of this all is not to just get filled up and do nothing with it. We must continue to sow into others lives by modeling the life of Jesus.

Someone may be just your life away from seeing the truth and walking in him!
