Rhythms or Endurance –Faith

Key Scriptures:

1 Corinthians 13:13, 14:1 NLT; Hebrews 11:1 NLT; Romans 12:3 NLT; Hebrews 12:2 NLT; Romans 10:17 NLT; Ephesians 6:1-3NLT; Proverbs 29:18 NLT; Psalm 23:4 NLT; Isaiah 1:19 NLT

Key Words:

Endurance – the fact or power of enduring an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way, the capacity of something to last or to withstand wear and tear.

Denoting or relating to a race or other sporting event that takes place over a long distance or otherwise demands great physical stamina.

Take Away:

Faith brings God’s dreams for us into focus despite our circumstance.

The Word of God is a combination of His principles and His Promises.

In faith we seek the promise, in obedience we adjust to the principle.

Outcome is God’s responsibility, obedience to the promise(faith) is yours.

Let’s Talk:

Have you ever seen a movie where a person has to jump from a burning building into the fireman’s net to save their life.

How is this similar to having faith?

What two elements were required for the person to make the jump?

Let’s Think:

The Word of God is a combination of His principles and His promises.

In faith we seek the Promise, in obedience we adjust to the principle.

What promises have you been seeking in faith?  Has there been any struggles? Has there been any breakthroughs?

What’s one principle of God that you have struggled to adjust to? Why has it been a struggle?

Going Deeper:

Disobedience creates fear! When you fear that it may not go well for you, when you fear you will be injured or lose out, our faith in God’s promises, principles and protection dwindles.

Prayer:

In your prayer time, thank God for the promises He has shown you. Remember the times of breakthrough, when God’s promises became a reality to you. Write them down in your journal so you can revisit them and remind yourself of what He has done.

Walk It Out:

Monday: What one thing can you do today that requires faith?

Tuesday: Today I can genuinely imagine _________ (fill in blank) happening in my life!

Wednesday: What one thing can I put aside today to make time to spend imagining with God?

Thursday: What scripture am I going to immediately be obedient to today?
